Thomas Stothard 1755-1834 painter and illustrator lived here
Re-erected when a new façade was given to the building in 1924. Only three plaques of this design exist, the other two being those commemorating Micheal Balfe at 12 Seymour Street and Cardinal Manning at 22 Carlisle Place. The material used in their manufacture is lead.
