English translation: The No. 1 skyscraper built by the architect Édouard Albert in 1960, this 65-metre high building is the first residential tower in Paris. Its original architecture is the result of innovative techniques: hollow steel pole structures, wrapping of stainless steel panels, prefabricated materials, light and economical. The 6th floor breakthrough is not an aesthetic originality, it was designed to accommodate a walkway that would have made it possible to reach Abel-Hovelaque Street, by crossing the underground garage lanes. This original building, which is included in the inventory of Historical Monuments, is one of the rare representatives, along with some buildings of the University of Jussieu, of the metal tubular architecture developed by Albert.
