Bromley Council run a blue plaque scheme as they wish to recognise those citizens who have contributed to the world around them. Normally the Council erects one or two plaques each year. It is recognised that the plaques contribute to the creation of a 'sense of place' in the specific local communities which make up the London Borough of Bromley and portrays the considerable historic connections which the Borough has with the arts, sciences, professions, social services and history.
